1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the RentBoss platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These terms apply to all users of RentBoss, including landlords, property managers, tenants, and administrators.

2. Description of Service

RentBoss is a property management software platform that enables landlords to manage rental properties, collect payments, track expenses, handle maintenance requests, and communicate with tenants. Tenants may use the platform to pay rent, submit maintenance requests, view lease documents, and communicate with their landlord.

RentBoss is a technology platform only. We are not a real estate agency, broker, or party to any rental agreement between landlords and tenants. All rental agreements are solely between the landlord and the tenant.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Accounts may not be transferred or shared without our prior written consent.

4. Landlord Responsibilities

As a landlord using RentBoss, you are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy of all property listings, lease terms, and rental amounts you enter into the platform.
• Complying with all applicable laws and regulations governing residential and commercial tenancies in your jurisdiction.
• Ensuring that all charges, fees, and deductions applied to tenants are lawful and properly disclosed.
• Maintaining the security and privacy of your tenants' personal information as required by law.
• Resolving any disputes with tenants directly — RentBoss does not mediate landlord-tenant disputes.

5. Tenant Responsibilities

As a tenant using RentBoss, you are responsible for:

• Making rental payments on time as required under your rental agreement.
• Providing accurate information when completing rental applications or account registration.
• Using the platform only for lawful purposes and in connection with your tenancy.

RentBoss is not a party to your rental agreement and has no responsibility for the terms set by your landlord.

6. Prohibited Use

You may not use RentBoss to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent property listings.
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against any user.
• Violate any applicable law, including fair housing and tenancy laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform.
• Reverse engineer, copy, or distribute any part of the software.

7. Intellectual Property

The RentBoss platform, including its software, design, and content, is owned by RentBoss and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the platform, including lease documents, property photos, and financial records. By uploading content, you grant RentBoss a limited licence to store and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. RentBoss does not warrant that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

RentBoss does not provide legal, financial, or tax advice. Any financial reports or summaries generated by the platform are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentBoss shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any loss of data, revenue, or profits. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to RentBoss in the three months prior to the claim.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, at our sole discretion, to be harmful to the platform or other users.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases. You may request an export of your data within 30 days of account closure.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
